Board of Directors Meeting
October 7, 2014<
The meeting was called to order at 4:01 pm.
Roll call revealed two Directors missing, George Wilson and Jan Moss. Therefore no quorum was present and no actions were taken.
The following is a summary of issues heard at the meeting.

The Treasurer reported an amount in checking account of:
          $ 4573.73

The Board received a request from the Zig Zag Ranger’s Station to comment on the expansion of the parking area at the Mazama Lodge in Government Camp. This issue will be brought up at the November Meeting.

There will be a community leaders’ meeting in Oregon City on October 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.; agenda to be announced.

Coni Scott reported on the Chamber of Commerce meeting earlier this day. The speaker was Lanning Blank of the White House B and B. The Chamber Board also voted to sponsor the new Villages signage.

There was light discussion on the changes to the County Ordinance #03-2007. The primary area of great concern is the change made to the financing of the Hamlets and Villages Boards.

The agenda and Community Survey for the October Town Hall and Candidates’ Forum were presented for review by the Board. The Town Hall is scheduled for October 18, 2014 at the Resort, Trees Room, 9 to Noon. Part of the discussion at the Town Hall will be what to do with The Dorman Center. The county will not insure the Iwakt Community Garden currently on the property. There was discussion of needing a Garden Member on the Villages Board.

The first ODOT Planning Grant meeting with ODOT and County officials was discussed and disappointment was expressed.

There was a discussion of the proposed new Villages signage. Coni Scott and Tim Windell were present and talked to the Board about putting up a sign welcoming visitors to the Hoodland area. Mr. Windell offered to provide the private property, maintenance, and electricity needed for such a sign. Coni Scott requested a letter of support for a sign from the Villages Board and mentioned that she may be back to the Board for help with county permits, etc. They also announced a community meeting scheduled for November 6, 2014 at Windell’s for the purpose of garnering Community support for this project. This issue will be revisited at the next Board meeting.

It was reported that the Library will move at the end of June 2015 to a space previously occupied by Hair Designers across from the Thriftway shopping center.

The REACT Committee is meeting to discuss future configuration and representation of the Committee.

The C4 retreat was cancelled last month and there is discussion and concern over the future of this organization. There will be a Committee meeting October 13, 2014.

Timberline Lodge hosted a celebration luncheon honoring the first year of the Mountain Express bus and acknowledging those government and community leaders responsible for the effort.

.......before the meeting! with only a "Public Records Request" needed!
It appears the Mr. Reeves was deceiving the County (yeh, so what, SNUFU)
Apparently, he routinely sent the draft minutes out to the BOD before the meetings but, when asked, denied that anything was sent out
    (or the County did)!
As the kiddie rhyme goes: "liar, liar, pant on fire"

- All BOD meetings should be open to the public and must be announced with an agenda, on the web site and in the library at least 7 calendar days prior to the day such meeting is to be held.
    - There is no requirement that any materials be available prior to the meeting but may be requested under Oregon public meeting laws but I have not had any success with that approach
